Unexpected Lottery: Michigan Woman Wins Big After Car Wash Stop

Jackson, Michigan – Louise Adams, a 77-year-old resident of Jackson, Michigan, recently discovered that a simple car wash stop led to her winning a life-changing $1 million Michigan Lottery prize from a Mega Millions drawing.

Adams recounted that she had stopped at Kelly’s Express Mart on Horton Road in Jackson because her car needed a wash.

“I play Mega Millions here and there, so when I stopped at the gas station to get a car wash, I decided to buy a ticket,” Adams said.

To her surprise, her ticket matched the five white balls drawn in the March 26 drawing of Michigan, securing her the $1 million prize. However, it wasn’t until a few days later that Adams realized the extent of her win.

“A few days later, I looked up the winning numbers online and saw I’d matched five, but I didn’t know how much I’d won. I took the ticket to a retailer, and the worker looked at it, wrote something on a piece of paper, and then slipped the paper across the counter to me. When I looked at it and saw $1 million written down, I was speechless! Winning truly feels like a miracle,” Adams said.

Adams expressed her gratitude and plans to share her windfall with her family.

“I still can’t believe I won! All I have to say is thank goodness I decided to get a car wash that day, otherwise I wouldn’t be here claiming $1 million,” Adams said.

Adams’ win comes as a stroke of luck in what has been a challenging time for many. The unexpected windfall will undoubtedly provide some much-needed relief and joy for Adams and her loved ones.

Michigan Lottery officials congratulated Adams on her win and highlighted the significance of her story.

“It’s incredible to see how a simple, everyday decision like getting a car wash can lead to such a life-changing moment. We’re thrilled for Louise and her family and wish them all the best,” said a spokesperson for the Michigan Lottery.

Adams’ win serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of life and the potential for unexpected blessings to come our way when we least expect them.
