Covered in tattoos
An Australian woman has spent the equivalent of over $25,000 getting covered in tattoos – in just eight years. Even famously-tattooed celebrities like Justin Bieber have a long way to go before being this inked.
Even her eyeballs are now blue, while almost the entirety of her body has some sort of ink on it. She got her first design aged 16, just to see what it would be like, with simple script saying ‘you can keep knocking, but won’t knock me down; no love lost, no love found’. In the years since, she well and truly got into the habit.
She has over 150 tattoos altogether – she stopped counting once she reached the figure but estimates that she’s had at least another 100 since then, taking her total up to around 250 tattoos. By the time she was 20, her tattoo appointments became more and more frequent, and now she also works as an apprentice tattooist. At the same time, she’s studying to become a traffic controller. Clearly, being covered in tattoos doesn’t matter too much in this line of work.
Body modifications
Her bright blue eyeballs are perhaps her most outlandish work, and weren’t the easiest part of her body to alter: “My eyeballs caused me the most immense pain I’ve endured so far, but they’re worth it. Every morning when I wake up and look at my eyeballs, it makes me happy because blue is my absolute favourite colour,” she said of the experience.
On top of her tattoos she hasn’t shied away from other body modifications either. Her tongue is split and she has a silicone implant in her eye. However, she explained that her behavior helped her deal with mental health struggles. Although she had a stable childhood she was lonely as an only child with a single mom and dad not often around, and lived with depression, anxiety and BPD. Hence, her tattoos are helping her really love herself and her body.
Perhaps we’ll see her at the International Body Art convention in the future, maybe speaking to this guy? Do you have a lot of body modifications? Let us know!
