Fashion designer Anthony Rubio, the mastermind behind the Pet Gala, takes immense pride in translating the high-fashion world of the Met Gala to the canine realm. “It’s not about making the dogs suffer for fashion,” he emphasizes on the museum’s website. “Their comfort and safety are my top priority. But translating those elaborate human garments onto four-legged stars? That’s a challenge I love!”

“The world right now can be a pretty tough place,” he says. “Everything’s negative, everyone’s stressed. So, I do this to elevate happiness and bring some light into the world. What better way to do that than with adorable dogs dressed in fabulous outfits?”
Mission accomplished, Mr. Rubio! The museum’s CEO, Christopher Bromson, echoes this sentiment. “We hope that when people see the exhibition, they take away just some delight and joy,” he says.
