UFO-shaped car: A routine traffic stop on the Turner Turnpike took an unexpected turn this week when Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Ryan Vanvleck pulled over a vehicle that looked more like something out of a sci-fi movie. The UFO-shaped car caught everyone’s attention, including the driver’s.
UFO-shaped car confuses everyone
The reason for the stop? The UFO-shaped car’s license plate was partially obscured. However, the situation quickly turned lighthearted as the driver explained they were on their way to the Roswell UFO Festival in New Mexico. The unique car and their destination sparked amusement from both parties. In a refreshing twist, Trooper Vanvleck opted for a warning instead of a ticket, even taking a photo of the unusual vehicle with the occupants.
Not the First Encounter for the “UFO”
This wasn’t the first time this eye-catching car had attracted law enforcement attention. Just days earlier, a deputy from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office in Missouri pulled it over for registration issues. Similar to Trooper Vanvleck, the deputy opted for a playful approach, issuing a warning and offering some humorous advice regarding “warp speed” and “phaser” settings. The sheriff’s office lightheartedly posted on Facebook, “Well, you never know what will be traveling through Crawford County, but this one was a little out of this world.”
While the UFO-shaped car stole the show, these traffic stops serve as a reminder to all drivers, terrestrial or extraterrestrial, to ensure their vehicles are properly registered and their license plates are clearly visible. Luckily, for the occupants of this unique car, their journey to the Roswell UFO Festival continued without any major delays, thanks to the understanding officers they encountered.
