An ordinary family dinner at Golden Corral in North Little Rock, Arkansas, took a dramatic turn when Tayvia Woodfork, a 26-year-old from Mississippi, unexpectedly gave birth in the restaurant.
Tayvia, who was dining with her family, excused herself to the restroom after experiencing stomach pains. She soon discovered she was in active labor at 37 weeks due to a cryptic pregnancy—a rare condition where a woman is unaware of her pregnancy until labor starts, according to the Cleveland Clinic. In the restroom, Tayvia delivered a healthy 6-pound baby boy.
Honoring the place of his unexpected arrival, she named her son Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork.
Golden Corral’s North Little Rock location shared the joyous news on Facebook: “IT’S A BOY!
Please join us in welcoming Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork, who was so excited that his mother was dining at Golden Corral that he decided to join her! He was just born in our Golden Corral restaurant in North Little Rock, AR.
His mom was so excited that she decided to include Corral in his legal name. Both mother and son are doing great, and we could not be happier! Welcome to the Golden Corral family Tamaar!
You’re the new record holder as the youngest fan of Golden Corral! And don’t worry, we’ll make sure Mom is well taken care of with Golden Corral gift cards… while she’s taking care of you.”
In line with their promise, the restaurant gifted Tayvia with various presents and a $200 gift card, as confirmed by her mother, Tameka Woodfork, on Facebook.
The Story of Tamaar’s Birth at Golden Corral Goes Viral
The heartwarming story quickly gained national attention, with Golden Corral’s corporate team sharing Tayvia’s photos and the news on social media platform X. A spokesperson for Golden Corral remarked,
“As surprised as our team was at the news of a baby being born at our restaurant, we are truly honored to play such a momentous role in little Tamaar’s life. But no honor compares to having Tamaar carry on the ‘Golden Corral’ brand name in his own name, Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork.”
Both mother and baby are doing well, and this remarkable birth story has forever etched a special memory in Golden Corral’s history.
