Self-Isolating
If you’re stuck inside at the moment, life might be a bit boring. Self-Isolating isn’t fun, but sometimes weird things can happen when you’re at home by yourself. This single man was self-quarantining at home and managed to get stuck in his foldable couch after falling asleep after a night of Netflix and Taco Bell.
He was able to get to his cell phone and ask his friends for help on their group chat before his battery died, but as they were concerned about coronavirus, they decided it would be best not to help him.
They discussed the incident in another group chat, ‘The Decision 2020’, where they decided between each other to stay social distancing at home instead of coming to their friend’s aid. Instead, they sent him some inspirational quotes and left him alone with his dog. The last message he read before his phone died was simply ‘You’ll be alright’, liked by everybody else in the group chat.
Panic-Buying
Hopefully he had plenty of supplies nearby, just like these people who were panic-buying a range of random groceries for their time spent self-isolating. Somebody replied to an Instagram post saying that they bought five different types of juice in case they needed a mimosa bar, somebody else bought thirty eggs, when they already had two dozen at home, and another – as there was no more toilet paper left in the store – decided for some reason to buy wine and donuts instead. Honestly, that doesn’t seem like the most logical substitution.
Of course, the coronavirus outbreak is so weird that nobody really knows how to react, and if people are home alone there is a chance that they will find themselves in awkward situations like the man who got stuck in his foldable couch. In this case, it would be useful to make sure there is enough food in the house.
If food shortages and panic-buying continue, maybe people will have to try new food, like this bread that features insects. Have you heard about anyone getting into a weird situation when staying at home and self-isolating recently? Let us know!
