St John de la Vega is a small town in Mexico that is known for its unique entertainment. The festival which is celebrated by many people in the town. The festival is known as an exploding hammer festival and occurs every year in February. People from the town and nearby areas come to participate or watch this dangerous festival.
To the end of sledgehammers, Sulphur and chlorate mix are attached by people. When they smash this hammer against rail beams, it explodes. The explosion leaves big smoke clouds in the surrounding and this is the core of this event. This is very dangerous for participants as many of them are flung backward because of the immense force of an explosion. However, people keep celebrating this event every year.
Flying backward with so much force leaves people injured. If the person escapes on time, chances are that he will be less injured only. The injuries are nominal, and they recover soon but this year it was very serious. Around 43 people are injured in the exploding hammer festival this year, of which one is in serious condition. The man could not run back in time and left his leg hurt in the blast. Health workers had to carry him back on a stretcher. Although other people were not critical, the number of total injuries is very high.
