Unique news came from the Island of England where a violinist woman, Dagmar Turner, wanted to play the violin during brain surgery as the tumor has been removed from her brain. According to the weird news, she has been playing the violin when she was 10 years old and today even at the age of 53 she wants to play it passionately.
Doctors at King’s College Hospital in London mapped areas of Turner’s brain that were active when she played violin and woke her during the procedure so she could play.
The footage of the operation shows that she was holding the instrument while the operation is in process. According to the doctor when 90% of the tumor was removed they allowed the patient to play the violin during brain surgery. This allows them to leave the un-affected area of her brain. The doctor said that this is the first time as the procedure of operations is in process and the patient is playing the violin during brain surgery.
Turner thanked the doctor and the team to allow her to do something which she is so passionate about and she thought that she will lose this skill because of the operation. She plays the violin during brain surgery without any hiccups.
