Considering all of the above, I prepared a small selection of CKI tape drives (domestic and foreign) , In my humble opinion, should pay attention. I note that the collection includes people whom I see myself. They always comment on what is happening on the gaming table, share their thoughts, feel free to joke and, it’s important, limit themselves in the use of non-normative vocabulary.
Magic: The Gathering Online
I would like to start with the most famous card game. The developers have tried to transfer the experience from the game in Magic: The Gathering in the digital space. All aspects are preserved – from the design of the decks to the tournaments. Even for boosters, you still need to pay. Here are a couple of streamers and channels in this segment:
1) Magic: The Gathering [YouTube] [Twitch]
Official channel Magic: The Gathering – without it in this case anywhere. The guys represent new sets of maps, publish video tutorials, interviews, and also broadcast matches of the best players in “Magic”. The classical examples of the work of the decks in “field conditions” are also possible:
2) AJ Sacher [YouTube] ] [Twitch]
AJ is a writer, caster, streamer and content-maker, who seriously takes a great interest in many card games. One of them is “Magic”. A lot of effort is attached to the creation of training videos. Here is an example of an interesting video – the most complete analysis of the mechanics of the game, an overview of the playing field and so on.
Hearthstone
Further down the list is the “gun” of 2014, a game that rarely leaves the top three on Twitch. It’s about Hearthstone: Heroes of WarCraft. The company Blizzard managed to take the existing concept of card games and modify it – as a card game it has become easier, but has greatly gained in entertainment. So, to the list of streamers:
1) Trump [YouTube] [Twitch]
Trump started out as a StarCraft II player, but quickly moved to the Hearthstone scene. He is the first in this list, because he can rightfully be considered the grandfather of the “Heartstone” – Jeffrey (his real name) has been streaming since the launch of the beta test of the project. He was also a participant in the first world championship on Hearthstone.
Trump remains a kind of “guiding light” for beginners, recording training videos. His base decks remain an excellent support for novice players, and the F2P Challenge video series shows that anyone can achieve high ranks without investing money in the game. During the matches, he always explains his moves, squeezing out of any existing situation a maximum. And he does not hesitate to “dilute” the news tape with his piano playing.
2) Noxious GLHF [YouTube] [Twitch]
Noxious is also a veteran of the Hearthstone scene and carries entertainment to the masses with open beta testing. Unlike other streamers, Noxious follows the rule of “fun first”, so it does not set itself the goal to reach high ranks or gain maximum victories in the arena. That is why, at one time, he invented the Randuin Wrynn deck, completely built on random elements.
In his opinion, the best deck is an unusual deck, even the unexpected, which catches opponents unawares and generates interesting interactions on the game table.
3) Tomatos [YouTube] [Twitch]
Alexey “Tomat” is the only Russian-speaking streamer in this segment, which makes him honor. He likes to call the “Hartstone” police and generates a lot of positive and funny moments on the stream. In his case, I suggest simply watching the cutting of the best videos for 2016. Enjoy
4) Kripparrian [YouTube] [Twitch]
Kripp played in many games at a high level and did (still does) video on them. He was one of two players who first defeated Diablo III in the Inferno Hardcore difficulty level, and he was banned in Neverwinter and Guild Wars 2 for being smarter than the virtual universe economy.
As a good player showed himself and In Hearthstone. Do not ask the audience for money and subscriptions to the channel, he just likes to play games with people. He is absolutely brilliant when it comes to finding incredible moves, thanks to a clear understanding of the mechanic “Hartstone.”
For example, in the video above, Kripp talks about a possible scenario when a player wins a match in three moves (something unprecedented). Literally a week later, his “prophecy” comes true during stream number one on the list – Trump.
5) Day9 [YouTube] [Twitch]
Shawn Day9 Plott also came to the “Hartstone” from Starcraft. Charismatic, smart, always makes me smile. Calling Sean a professional player in Hearthstone does not turn the language, because he often makes mistakes due to active interaction with the chat. He reached the legend only once and constantly played “unplayable” decks (the notorious Shadow Priest).
But all the “knights”, as he calls his subscribers, still love him. He is appreciated for his amazing open character and magnificent stories. It was not for nothing that he was awarded the “Person of the Year” award.
Gwent
Gwent is another collectible card game that is rapidly gaining popularity. “Gvint” came to replace bones and poker from the first and second parts of the game “The Witcher”, and now reborn as an independent project. This CCI is very different from the others in terms of mechanics, which makes it more interesting. Many streamers from the previous section tried to play Gvint, but he also brought new faces to the arena.
1) Sherl Lightning [YouTube] [Twitch]
This is Ruslan, he publishes the video not only for “Gvint”, but he pays a lot of attention to this card game. It is very pleasant to watch it for the simple reason that he calmly explains everything that is happening on the table.
It does not particularly bother with cutting the video, laying out the stream records “as is.” I can not say that this is good, because watching a three-hour video is sometimes problematic, but its charm is there – you can get the most complete “experience” from what is happening on a live show.
2) KingBlackToof [YouTube] [Twitch]
If it’s time to play “Gwint”, then this guy is the best choice. Each KBT video tries to make it interesting, and at the same time teach players something. He likes to dedicate a particular video to the features of one card, revealing all aspects of the game, leading various combinations and, of course, real examples from his matches. In this video he talks about nackers:
His channel can not do without the latest news from the developers: the upcoming patches, events in the studio, new maps and so on.
3) Merchant [YouTube] [Twitch]
Its channel is where you should go first, if you need a good deck. Detailed analysis of the mechanic, a variety of factions, examples of games with comments.
Merchant started streaming “GWINT” from the first days after the release of the beta and, although it is on the third place on this list, quickly became one of my favorite content makers. It is interesting to watch, but even more interesting to listen to – he is the owner of a terrific deep voice that brings the impression of viewing to a new level.
Duelyst
This project also stands out a little from the general list, because it is not 100% collectible card game. Duelyst is a turn-based tactical strategy with elements of CQI and interesting pixel graphics. The game has a kind of plot – a story that explains what is happening on the battlefield – and an amazing musical component, here is an example of music:
Well, here’s a list of streamers on which you should pay attention:
1) MegaMogwai [YouTube] [Twitch]
The Spanish guy MegaMogwai just loves to play card games. Video on Duelyst, he began to do in partnership with Counterplay Games, the developers of the game, and the result of their cooperation was a good series of training videos. The first part I give below:
The records of the streams are not less interesting to watch, since after making the move, he explains why he did this: he puts everything in order, predicts the likely consequences and reaction of the enemy. [2] Brian Kibler [YouTube] [Twitch]
Brian Kibler is quite a significant figure in the world of KKI. He started with Magic: The Gathering, where he had a great success. Then he switched to other card games and moved to e-sports – many could see him at the tournaments on the “Hartstone”, which he now pays more time. However, he does not bypass the “Duelist”. Here is his latest video:
3) Noxious GLHF [YouTube] [Twitch]
And again Noxious. He began to stream Duelist in Paid Promotion format, but he liked the project, because he continued his interaction with him.
In each of the videos he produces, he offers the viewer a new deck, explains the main combos and plays a couple of matches with explanations.
This is probably all. I note that the list does not include many worthy people: Amaz, StrifeCro, FireBat, Naur, LifeCoach and others (for the same “Duelist” guys on Reddit have picked up a long list). They did not come here for various reasons, but, probably, to some of you they will like it.
