You can draw any design and give it out as a concept – like it worked a few years ago. Now it’s not enough just to paint the car with wings and announce that in 15 years all transport will become unmanned. How is the future built on communication with IoT in the general ecosystem of a smart city to be reflected in the appearance of the machine? Is now able to at least someone lay the foundations of transport systems of the future or should we be satisfied with cars abstract fantasies of designers, while the real market pioneers (for example, Tesla) are not in a hurry to share their promising developments?
The answers to these questions will be sought in our conceptual-futuristic selection. Most of the presented advanced developments are planned to be implemented serially, without leaving “future cars” in the form of exhibition exhibits.
Motor-car

Flying car

French aviators from Airbus, famous for the whole world with their planes, decided to engage in cars, but not simple, but also able to fly. The machine can autonomously move both on four wheels, and on propellers, represented as a separate drone.

Mercedes-Benz showed the concept of Vision Van – the project of a low-tonnage carrier, in the body of which is installed a clever sorting system Cargo: she chooses and pushes for unloading the right one when the wagon arrives at the address. Delivery of a package weighing up to two kilograms can be controlled from the smartphone eight wheeled drones, the range of which is 10 km. Soon, testing of both the truck and the drones will begin.
UAVs
Not just drones, but “inhumane”. The Russian company Volgabus has developed a project for the future family of commercial unmanned vehicles. At the heart of their idea of modular transport is a single basic platform. During operation it is possible not only to change the purpose of the machine (for example, from a truck to make a bus), but also to roll up a fully loaded cart for the necessary transport module in return for the one where the battery has sat down.
MATRYSHKA (as the authors of the project themselves called it) is not just a concept. The first ready-made prototype is now rolled out on the territory of Skolkovo, the second is aimed at testing the ground, and three more machines are at the assembly stage.

Honda NeuV is a self-governing electric vehicle that defines the emotions of a passenger / driver and, based on the data received, adjusts the driving style. The first prototype of the machine has already been built, but there is no ready software yet.
Cars that are “nothing like”, are increasingly similar to each other. Automakers are trying to surprise not by design (the exterior presented in the review “loaves” is not very impressive), but to make an interesting “vehicle.” The main characteristics are not the speed or range, but the ability to adjust to the character of the owner, provide him with maximum comfort, provide information on the shortest route, meet the increased environmental requirements. It is possible that soon the “car for racing” in certain markets will become the lot of aesthetes, and for a mass buyer the car will finally be reincarnated as an element of a comfortable public infrastructure.
