Multimeter

Last fall there was a post with testing multimeter. The price of the tested model Fluke 87-V starts from 40 thousand rubles, which for the average user is beyond reasonable limits, for which the author was regularly scolded. Moreover, some users reasonably noticed that DT 838 for 300 rubles will suffice for checking the batteries. Thus, two poles of prices were covered, and whether there is something for the intermediate money, but with good accuracy, remains unclear. If interested, let’s see.

At my disposal at work there is a good workhorse APPA 71 (Included in the State Register of SR under number: 25440-11 Certificate of inclusion in the State Register of SI is valid until: 21.03.21), it costs about 5000 rubles – you can draw, but still expensive . About four years ago I bought the DT9205A, which was incomparably better than the 838th version, but it cost about 300 rubles when ordering from China.

Six months ago I accidentally stumbled upon the model AN8002 – it attracted a tiny size, good functionality, large capacity and the price of about 800 rubles. The device arrived and immediately pleased with the quality of performance.

Let’s start our testing. To test the accuracy of the resistance measurement, a resistance store with a KDPV was used. The minimum pitch is 0.1 Ohms, the maximum value is 100 kOhm (if it’s for sure, then 99999.9). Especially carefully passed the switching times of the limits – 200, 2000 … for DT9205A and 600, 6000 … in the case of AN8002. We get the graph of the relative error:

DT9205A gives a dozen percent on the left side of the graph due to an error in the low-order unit of 0.1 Ω. In the following graph, the area of large resistances is shown more large:

DT9205A is expected to lose the race, while the leader suddenly becomes AN8002. It is worth noting that in AN8002 the values do not change after a few seconds at all, which is a clear marker for the end of measurements. In APPA 71, they hang out + -2 low order units.

I do not have a store of capacitors, so several capacitors were used for the test, and an immittance meter was used as a reference device. The results are as follows:

The sharp peak of the error is caused by the transition to electrolytes. It’s a pity, but with the measurement of the leaders of the last race is very bad.

But not all electrolytic capacitors are relatively good:

AN8002 fits in 5%, APPA 71 – at 10%, but for accurate measurements of capacity they are not suitable.

The thermocouple was also attached and showed 96 degrees in boiling water at a pressure of 740 mm Hg, which is not enough (about two degrees). Multimeter Tests of current and voltage measurements I deliberately did not insert into the post (although I spent them), because In the process of writing, I found out that something has already been demonstrated, but if there is interest, it can be supplemented. Also, I decided to refrain from unnecessary photographs and discussion of the equipment, because I myself do not like this kind of posts on the resource. Only the results of measurements of parameters that were not previously available.
