Crazy conspiracy
The latest crazy conspiracy to make the news is that music legend Elvis Presley is alive, and it all stems from an interview way back in 2007. It was recently the King’s 85th birthday and this might explain why interest in this conspiracy theory has increased again.
In the interview, Larry King is at Presley’s old Graceland residence with his former wife Priscilla Presley, reintroducing her after a commercial break. Then, a voice belonging to neither of the two can be heard saying “turn left”. There could be a number of explanations, but many Elvis fans are convinced that it was actually his voice that can be heard – despite it being for more likely that it was somebody else on location.
Of course, crazy conspiracy theories have been rife ever since his death over forty years ago, but this is the latest to garner popularity online. After the video footage was uploaded to YouTube, it has been watched over 100,000 times, with the Facebook group Evidence Elvis Presley is Alive being a hotbed of suspicion.
Famous deaths
Some fans thought that the cameraman was actually Elvis in disguise, going as far as looking at him closer with a magnifying glass. After some close analysis, many fans were convinced that it was definitely Elvis who they could hear in the video.
It’s not the first time there has been an Elvis conspiracy theory to make the news – every so often there will be a supposed ‘sighting’ of the singer. But just like the others, this one is more likely to be somebody involved in producing the video rather than the King himself. Ten years ago, some of the items supposedly used to prepare Elvis’ body was auctioned off, including his toe tag, and there’s no evidence that these weren’t actually used on the singer.
Last month there was another conspiracy theory that another legendary musician, John Lennon, was still alive – if a legendary musician dies prematurely, there will almost always be conspiracy theories surrounding the situation, but they’re most likely unfounded.
