Applications

“Where to get money?” – most businesses, including mobile development, have closed and have not started because of problems with financing. Of course, there are quite successful comrades who invest in the development and marketing of their own funds, but such a minority. Young developers are forced to make do with a minimal budget or borrow money on the side. True, not all. Over the past 5 years in Russia, several dozens of applications have been issued, which received funding through croweding. Here are the 7 most interesting examples that may inspire someone to start their own development and show that even without a lot of money you can do something steep.

1 . Teddy Food. Fees: 1 223 721 ruble

A project from a Samara developer who spent two campaigns on Boomstarter collected a record sum for Russian crowdsfunding. Teddy Food is a living “Tamagotchi”. Attached to the application are real shelters for pets from all over Russia. The user selects the pet and takes care of him. The dog (or cat) can be remotely fed, played with the animal or asked to scratch it. All actions are performed by shelter workers, and the “owner” can monitor the event in a live broadcast.

2. Escort. Dues: 329 559 rubles

Not an application, but a whole software package for blind and visually impaired people. The application sends an image from the camera of the smartphone and the sound to the operator. At the same time, the GPS coordinates are transmitted. The operator analyzes the information received and tells the user what is in front of him and where to turn to get to the right place. If necessary, it can also promptly call for help, since the user’s coordinates are also transmitted to the operator in real time.

3. Chay. Dues: 390,700 rubles

 image

Application for non-cash payment of a tip. Waiters are registered in the app, and restaurant visitors can thank them by sending tips through the usual online payment methods. It is very convenient for those who are used to paying in restaurants with a card and are not averse to leaving a tip for good service. However, there is one question – is it necessary to pay an additional fee for the transfer of money.

4. Knowing. Collections: 90 100 rubles

 image

An application for curious people, in which scientific knowledge and facts are collected in the format of beautiful and comfortable cards. The authors take a certain topic (for example history) and choose from it the most important facts with the help of professional scientists. Then these facts are made out in cards with a simple language and beautiful pictures. The output is a large file, which, of course, will not replace Wikipedia, but it takes a while to travel.

5. Cult-tourist. Dues: 311 590 rubles

 image

An interactive guide to Russia and Europe and part-time cities is one of the first successful projects-applications on the Bumstarter. In the application there are maps, useful travel tips, photos and descriptions of attractions, a historical reference and another dozen chips for a perfect trip without getting off the couch. Guides and maps can be downloaded, which is useful on a trip, so as not to pay for roaming.

6. Tixchat. Fees: 1 158 257 rubles

 image

Another record holder of this collection. Tixchat is an online chat where users create animated avatars and communicate with each other. It was not without the virtual currency – “pechenek”, to which users can buy clothes for their avatars. This is half-anonymous communication. Either the idea is really so actual, or the popularity of the author – the host of “This is Good” Stas Davydov played a role.

7. Archive of Subcultures. Dues: 165,360 rubles

 image

A series of applications that received life on Planeta.ru. Each archive tells the story of one of the subcultures of the 80’s: from punk to hardcore. Inside the user will find hundreds of photos, interviews with prominent members of the movements and audio tracks under the mood. As a result – a full encyclopedia of past eras, which someone will return in 1987.
